I looked hard for a timber guy/logging crew for my farm Rivers Run in the Mississippi Delta. I was looking for someone who cared about his work, was straightforward, honest, that would leave my property in good shape and that would follow thru. My friend Brad Farris suggested I talk to Black River Timber. They came to my place and walked the land with me. We agreed that what I wanted to be done could be done and said they had a logger that would do a great job.
They began marking every tree that was to be cut. We created some Clear Cuts for deer cover, some feathered areas to give the Quail escape cover and removed some large trees in strategic spots that were keeping us from moving our farm equipment around. Black River selected Benji Nail to log my place and it was obvious that they hand selected Benji because he stuck to the plan and did it before the rains set in.
They even had my clear cuts planted in Nutalls, in the bottoms, and Swamp Chestnuts, on the higher ground. This assured me of a quality stand of timber in the future. They followed thru just like they said they would.
